Lockleys Pylon, Fortress Gorge, Fortress Hill, 300m descent/ascent 16km. Aim is to do a circular walk from Mt. Hay Rd. including the escarpment top between Lockleys and Fortress Hill. This will require crossing Fortress Gorge, rock scrambling etc. with possible time for exploration of the gorge. Map: Katoomba

Walk to Stanwell Park beach and Wodi Wodi track, return to Stanwell Park station. Climb to 300m. Panoramic views, sandstone vegetation.

18 Aug. Sun MITTAGONG [ILLAWARRA] Easy. No limit. Leader: *********** ************ Two short walks, Cave Creek at Hilltop 2 hours, then Boxvale Tunnel and return, 8km. Option 40 Foot Fails, views.

GREAT GROSE GORSE WALK [BLUE MOUNTAINS] Easy to medium: Control of noxious weeds Leader: *************************** Come along for half a day on the tops or up to 9 days in the valley. Base camp or walk a length of the river searching for and removing gorse, broom, blackberry and other weeds. Tools, training, supervision and organisation by NPWS, Friends of Blue Gum and Blue Mountains City Council. Please let us know soon if you would like to help and whether you would like a short or long walk so we can plan the work.

31 Aug. Sat TOPS TO MYALL'S HERITAGE TRAIL [MYALL] Easy 10 km. round walk. No limit. Leader: *************************** (after mid August) 'Wildfiower' Section of Mungo track in spring. Impact of dreamtime of past generations on nature, relics, geology etc. Swimming in ocean possible. Meet 9am at the Dark Point (Little Gibber) parking area of the Myall Lakes National Park, approx 12km north of the Hawks Nest Bridge. Bring lunch and water.
