In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most
Merciful
The following verses from Sura 3 were recited at the
May 05 Program
“When the angels said: O Mary, Allah has chosen you and purified you
and chosen you over the women of the world.”
O Mary, devote yourself to
your Lord, prostrate and bow with those who bow.
This is news of events beyond
your knowledge that We reveal to you, you were not
amongst them when they cast their lots as to who will take care of Mary and you
were not amongst them as they disputed.
The angels said: O Mary, Allah gives you the good news of a
word from Him, his name is the Messiah, Eesa (Jesus)
the son of Mary, he will be held in honour in this world and in the afterlife
and is of those who are brought near.
He will speak to people in
the cradle and in maturity and be amongst the righteous.
She said: My Lord, how can I
have a child when no human had touched me.
He said: Allah creates what He wills, if He decrees a matter, He says
concerning it: “Be” and it comes to being.
He will teach Him the
Scripture and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel.
And a messenger to the
Israelites, I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, I create for you
from clay an image of a bird, I blow into it, it becomes a bird with the
permission of Allah, I heal the blind and the leper, I give life to the dead
all with the permission of Allah. I also
give you news of what you eat and what you store in your homes, in this is a
sign for you lest you become believers.
And confirming what is before
me of the Torah and to make permissible for you some of the things that had
been forbidden to you, I have come to you with a sign from Your Lord, be
conscious of your duty to your Lord and obey me.
Allah is my Lord and yours, worship him, this is a straight path.
In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most
Merciful
The following verses from
Sura 19 were recited at the Oct 03 and July 04 program
16 Relate in
the book (the story of) Mary, as she took from her family an easterly place.
17 She
became veiled away from them, so We sent to her Our
spirit and he appeared to her as a perfect person.
18 She
said: I seek refuge from you in the Most
Gracious, if you are indeed conscious of God.
19 He
said: I am in fact a messenger from your
Lord to grant you a pure boy.
20 She
said: How can there be a child to me
when I have not been touched by a person and I am not unchaste.
21 He
said: That is what Your Lord said: It is easy for Me
and so that We can make him a sign for people and a mercy from Us, it was
indeed a thing ordained.
22 She
carried him and went with him to a remote place.
23 The pains
of childbirth drove her to the trunk the palm tree, she said: would it that I
had died before this and was a thing forgotten.
24 He called
her from under her, do not grieve, Your Lord has made under you a small creek.
25 And shake
the trunk of the tree towards you, it will drop on you ripe dates.
26 Eat and
drink and cool your eye, if you see any person, say: I have pledged a fast unto
the Most Gracious, today, I will not speak to any
person.
27 She
brought him to her people, carrying him, they said: O Mary, you have come with
a thing that is amazing.
28 Sister of
Aaron, your father was not a bad person and your mother was not unchaste.
29 She
pointed to him, they said: How can we
speak to one in the cradle, a little boy?
30 He
said: I am the devoted servant of Allah, He gave me the book and made me a prophet.
31 And made
me blessed wherever I be and enjoined on me prayers and charity as long as I
live.
32 And kind
and loyal to my mother and did not make me brutal or rebellious.
33 Peace be upon me the day I was born, the day I die and the day
that I am sent alive.
34 That is Eesa (Christ) the son of
Mary, the words of truth, an issue over which they dispute.
35 Allah was
not to ever take a son. Glory to Him, if
He decreed a matter, He says to it: Be and it is.
36 Allah is
my Lord and Yours, so devote yourself to Him, this is
a path that is straight.
